Ctg court sends Hizb-ut leader to jail on surrender
Sharif filed his bail petition saying he was innocent, and did not appear before the court earlier as he had no knowledge of the case.
Police recovered numerous leaflets, posters and books on the banned militant outfit from Sharif’s residence in Khulsi on May 16, 2010. The law enforcers also recovered a book written by Sharif himself. Since the incident, Sharif had been on the run, according to the prosecution.
On the same day, a case was filed against Omar Sharif, a former magistrate of a Feni court, in this connection.
