“The Khilafah: A Shining Model for Women Rights and Political Role”
Also the conference chair, Sister Nesrine Boudhafri spoke and said in her speech, “Allah(swt) blessed the woman and created her a mother to have the Heavens beneath her feet, a sister or daughter worthy of sacrificing for, or a wife to form a loving compassionate relationship under the light of purity and virtue parting on good terms from this Earth only to be united in delight in the Jannah”. She added, that today because of the neglectful unjust policy of the Muslims’ rulers, who are loyal to the West, “…the Muslim woman lingers in the shadows. She is described as ignorant and backward. While during the time of the Khilafah, she surpassed all women by hundreds of light-years. While Europeans were debating whether a woman possessed a soul or not, Muslim women enjoyed positions of being judges, (Qadiat al-Hisba), physicians, and politicians.”
Then the final speech was by the representative of the Central Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Dr. Nazreen Nawaz. She said, “hardship, indignity, oppression, poverty, repression, injustice, misery has been the recurrent story for this Ummah and its daughters over the last 8 decades.”
She showed that Hizb ut-Tahrir embodies the required qualities and ingredients to transform a vision of real change from an idea to reality and she said that the party is;
1- Established and based upon Islam …
2- A successful party which has a clear vision for change …
3- A sincere party that is not disloyal and does not compromise …
4- A party with genuine political awareness …
5- A party with a clear and correct strategy to achieve real change “
And finally she extended an invitation to Muslim women saying, “You are the inheritors of the legacy of the great Muslim women of the past who were fighters against oppression and vanguards of truth, justice, and Islam. Women like Khadija(ra)…, Sumaya(ra) the first martyr of Islam, Umm Omara(ra) who defended the Prophet(saw) with her own body at the battle of Uhud,… As your sisters in Islam, we call you to follow the footsteps of these great women…and working with us as Hizb ut-Tahrir to establish this great system,…the system that will burn away corruption, falsehood, and oppression and establish in its place a new dawn of justice and dignity for this Ummah and its daughters.”
The party organized a press conference before the main conference in which the official chair of the conference Ms. Nesrine Boudhafri and representative of the Central Media Office of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Dr Nazreen Nawaz, as well as the spokeswoman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Indonesia, Ms. Iffah Rochman, answered questions from the media.
The conference witnessed the presence of politicians, writers, academics, journalists, teachers, leaders of society and representatives of women’s organizations as well as other women of opinion from all over the world. They came to project a detailed vision about the meaning of the establishment of the Khilafah state for the status, lives and rights of women.
The attendees at this conference were from many countries including Tunisia, Yemen, Turkey, Libya, Jordan, Oman, Sudan, Somalia, Lebanon, Egypt, Indonesia, and Europe amongst others .
The Tunisian embassies prevented the delegations from Sudan and Yemen, Palestine and Jordan from entering Tunisia and did not give them a visa, without giving any reason and under false pretenses!
This conference came after a global campaign that was announced a month ago to highlight many practical solutions to the political, economic and social problems that women in the Muslim world and elsewhere suffer from, as well as to refute the allegations and fabrications about the persecution of women by Islam!
During the conference there was a broadcast of a video that described the status of women since the days of Jahiliyyah, to the rise of Islam and all the way through the Khilafah period, until the demise of her status after the demise of the Khilafah.
Hizb ut-Tahrir’s members confirmed that the ruling system of Islam is the only model that preserves the dignity of women and provides women’s rights, in deed, not in mere word. They ended the conference with an invitation, “to all women who believe in the need for real change to contribute and work to establish this shining model that will bring dignity, security and justice for the mothers and daughters in the Islamic world, and which will stand as a beacon to preserve and secure the rights of all women globally”.
We bring to your attention that you can watch some of the conference events on the official website of Hizb ut-Tahrir.
