London Community leaders support HT on the Islamic Solution for Pakistan Crisis
Dr Abdul Wahid, chairman of Hizb ut-Tahrir’s local executive committee spoke about how America, Britain and NATO had stepped up their campaign with plans for up to 37,000 more troops in Afghanistan even though they admit there are few ‘terrorists’ left in Afghanistan. He said their aim was to damage Pakistan – one of the strongest Muslim countries and to provoke division within the country. He said Obama, Clinton and Brown were all calling for Pakistan ‘to do more’ to fight their war, claiming that their intelligence said the FATA region was the source of ‘terrorism’ – just as their intelligence claimed that there were Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) in Iraq which could reach Britain in 45 minutes! He said that it was clear that the US was manufacturing its case for further intervention in the region. He explained that Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayat Pakistan had been leading the opposition to the American plan and the complicity of the Zardari-Gilani regime. The Hizb has severely accounted the Zardari government for allowing US military and paramilitary organisations like Dyncorp and Blackwater on how they are creating terror in cities in Pakistan – most recently the barbaric attack in a masjid in Rawalpindi – and also on the launch of the second war in South Waziristan by the Zardari regime. He reminded those gathered that the recent attack in Rawalpindi on 4th December 2009, like the attack on the Islamic University in Islamabad, was further proof of a foreign hand in these operations, and reminded people of similar American actions in Iraq and even in Central America in the past. He set forth policies which Hizb ut-Tahrir in Pakistan have launched in a manifesto which would deal with the deep political, security and economic problems of Pakistan which make the ordinary people suffer.
The meeting ended with a call to support Hizb ut-Tahrir’s work and a dua. It was chaired by Atif Salahuddin from Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain’s Pakistan Committee.
