Human-trafficking of Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslims: Another Shameful Chapter of Betrayal by the Leaders of ‘Perilous Democracy’
The horrific accounts of thousands of Muslims fleeing poverty in Bangladesh and persecution in Myanmar captured national and international media attention. The office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said in a recently released report that an estimated 25,000 people fled Myanmar and Bangladesh by boat in the first quarter of this year (2015), twice the number of last year. Based on survivors’ tales, the ill-fated Muslims board insecure smugglers’ boats to flee to Malaysia in the hope of finding job and shelter. On the way through many of them die due to starvation and physical abuse by boat crews and the rest of the migrants are held in horrible jungle camps in Thailand for months, even years, while their families are extorted for ransom (which is around BDT 200,000). The unlucky ones whose families fail to arrange the money are sold as human and sex slaves in Thailand.
Persecution and oppression against the innocent Muslims is now the order of the day. Despite the cries and repeated pleas from the beloved Ummah of Muhammad (saw), how helplessly we observe them to be constantly betrayed and abandoned by their rulers! Is it not the time to shun the Western Democracy that breeds these puppet rulers who only serve their selfish interests and that of their western masters, at the expense of the people? We have not forgotten how Sheikha Hasina turned away the Rohingya Muslims who begged her for shelter and protection against the Buddhist oppression in Myanmar. The time has long gone when we should have thrown these distrustful capitalist rulers into the gutter of history and replaced them with the sincere servants of the Khilafah. While the world is watching the impoverished Bangladeshis fleeing the country in an alarming scale due to poverty, the pathetic Finance Minister AMA Muhith claimed Bangladesh is a ‘happy country’ where per capita income has increased to $1,314!
Oh Dear Muslims of Bangladesh! Hizbut Tahrir will not be exhausted in reminding you time and again that all our on-going sufferings and misery are the consequences of the absence of the Khilafah. We will relentlessly ask you not to be bogged down with the problems only while turning a blind eye to the solution. For how long will you be patient with these evil rulers superimposing their anti-Islamic ideas upon us? We ask you to work with Hizbut Tahrir and support us so that we can bring an end to this oppression and safeguard the Ummah whose lives are sacred to Allah azza wa jal more than the Ka’aba, as stated by RasulAllah (saw).
“How good you are and how good your fragrance; how great you are and how great your sanctity. By the One in Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, the sanctity of the believer is greater before Allah than your sanctity, his blood and his wealth, and to think anything but good of him.” (Ibn Majah)
