O Muslim Armies! Is the Starvation and Slaughter of the Children of Aleppo Not Enough for you to Move to their Defence?!!!

Since the last few weeks, the Muslims of eastern Aleppo have been subjected to the most brutal siege by the murderous Assad and Russian forces. Over 300,000 civilians, 60% of whom are women and children are trapped in the city, with food, water and medical supplies fast running out. According to the UN, food reserves are expected to last only for a few more weeks after which the city is bracing itself to witness the same signs of mass malnutrition and starvation as seen in Madaya and other towns besieged by the criminal Syrian regime. One Syrian aid worker based in Aleppo and cited by the BBC, stated that since the siege, there is already so little food that 5 pieces of bread have to feed a family of 10 for two days. Alongside this, Syrian and Russian forces continue their relentless bombardment of the city, slaughtering its citizens at will, including women, children and babies, and attempting to utterly decimate its infrastructure and population. The UN reported that 4 hospitals in Eastern Aleppo and a blood bank were hit several times on the 23rd and 24th of July by airstrikes. In recent days there were also 2 bombing raids in under 12 hours on the only working paediatric hospital in the city. And on the 29th of July, a maternity hospital was bombed resulting in a number of deaths and injuries.

The honourable Muslim women and children of Aleppo now face an impossible choice – either to remain in the city and to be slaughtered or face a slow death from starvation, or to attempt to leave and be killed by government snipers during their escape. However, despite this horrendous plight, our courageous Muslim sisters of Aleppo came onto the streets to protest in support of the Mujahideen, disregarding the bombs and bullets of the criminal regime, and holding up banners which read, “Aleppo is fighting the battle on behalf of the Ummah”, expressing their will to protect their Ummah, for no Muslim army has taken up this duty! And the children of Aleppo fearlessly burnt tyres in the streets to create a curtain of black smoke to disrupt the bombing campaign of their enemies, for those vested with the obligation to defend them remained in their barracks.

So we ask, each and every commander, general, and soldier in the Muslim armies – Where are you when the children and babies of Aleppo are facing starvation and slaughter? Why have you abandoned them to their fate? How can you accept for these children to undertake tasks of defending their Ummah due to the absence of an army to protect their blood? – A duty which Allah (swt) has placed upon your shoulders and for sure will account you upon on the Day of Resurrection! For over 5 years now, you have witnessed this blessed land of Al-Sham being transformed into a theatre of mass murder of hundreds of thousands of your brothers and sisters without moving to their defence! For over 5 years now you have heard the desperate cries of your sisters in Syria, dishonoured by Assad’s dogs or weeping over their slain children and families without responding to their pleas for protection! And for over 5 years now you have seen your children of Syria buried alive by airstrikes or surviving on the meat of cats and dogs without acting to end their plight! How will you answer for this great neglect of duty to your Rabb, the Lord of the Worlds (swt)? We call you to respond urgently to the cries of your brothers and sisters so that you may gain honour in this life, the Pleasure of your Lord and the immense rewards in the next of being the protectors of your Ummah! And we call you to give your Nusrah for the urgent establishment of the Khilafah based upon the method of the Prophethood which will mobilise the armies without hesitancy to fulfil your true duty – to liberate and defend all the vulnerable Muslims across the world and to be the guardians of your Deen!

“And what reason have you that you should not fight in the way of Allah and of the weak among the men and the women and the children, (of) those who say: Our Lord! cause us to go forth from this town, whose people are oppressors, and give us from Thee a guardian and give us from Thee a helper.” [an-Nisaa 4:75]
