A Declaration in Support of the Rohingya Women and Children
A Declaration in Support of the Rohingya Women and Children
Issued by the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir for the Women’s Round Table Discussion held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Saturday 6th June 2015 entitled:
“Rohingya: Stateless at Sea OR Part of Khairu Ummah?”
We, the undersigned strongly condemn the escalating persecution, repressive policies and brutality to which our Rohingya Muslim brothers and sisters are being subjected to in Myanmar and surrounding states, and declare the following:
1. We, as Muslim women, affirm that the Muslims are one Ummah to the exception of others and it is an obligation to unite among themselves and not to be divided by borders or dams or distances, for Allah (swt) says,
إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ
“Truly, this, your Ummah is one Ummah, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me.” [Al-Anbiya: 92].
We therefore declare that the problems of our Rohingya brothers and sisters are all our problems; that we support their cause; and that Islam has enjoined us to protect them and provide them safe haven as stated by the Messenger of Allah (saw):
“A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim. So he should neither oppress him nor hand him over to an oppressor. And whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs, and he who relieved a Muslim from hardship Allah would relieve him from the hardships to which he would be put on the Day of Resurrection, and he who did not expose (the follies of a Muslim) Allah would conceal his follies on the Day of Resurrection.” (Extracted by Bukhari and Muslim)
2. The Muslims all over the world are brothers. The Almighty said, إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ “Believers are each other’s brothers” [Al-Hujarat: 10] They are one hand against others as said by the Prophet (saw):
«الْمُسْلِمُونَ تَتَكَافَأُ دِمَاؤُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَدٌ عَلَى مَنْ سِوَاهُمْ يَسْعَى بِذِمَّتِهِمْ أَدْنَاهُمْ وَيُرَدُّ عَلَى أَقْصَاهُمْ»
“The lives of all Muslims are equal; they are one hand against others; the lowest of them can guarantee their protection.”
Thus, the sanctity of the blood spilled in Syria is the same as the sanctity of the blood spilled in Central Africa; it is also the same as the sanctity of the blood of our brothers in Palestine, and the same as the sanctity of the blood of our Rohingyan brothers.
We strongly denounce and condemn the refusal of the existing regimes in the Muslim lands, and their reluctance to provide a safe haven and a decent life for those fleeing massacres committed by the pagan Buddhists against them. We declare absolute rejection of these national secular regimes existing in Muslim countries, as well as declare our rejection of artificial colonial borders imposed by the Kufr West upon us which divided our country into meager cantons which caused Muslims to leave and abandon their brothers at the time they are in dire need to support each other. And we are at a time in which we work and call upon Muslims to work with us to remove this bitter reality. We also demand that the existing regimes in Muslim countries break all ties with the criminal Myanmar dictatorship immediately, rescue those Rohingya fleeing persecution, and provide them with sanctuary and full rights of citizenship.
3. We reject the belief that claims that the international community can help resolve this crisis. Through their praise and strengthening of political and economic ties with the government of Myanmar’s dictatorship throughout its campaign of terror against the Rohingya Muslims, the capitalist governments that form this so-called community have displayed yet again that their priorities are limited to securing their financial interests even at the expense of human life and dignity. We also reject the idea that ASEAN could have a role in saving our Rohingya brothers and sisters, for it has always served as a compliant tool amongst the Western colonial governments to achieve their economic interests in the region. Furthermore, we have witnessed the utter failure and unwillingness of institutions such as the United Nations in protecting the lives of the oppressed Muslims of Syria, Palestine, Central Africa and elsewhere. We therefore place no trust, nor hope in the international community to stop the persecution, bloodshed, and horrendous suffering experienced by our Muslim brothers and sisters in Myanmar or elsewhere.
4. We affirm that the fundamental solution to the oppression and injustice experienced by our fellow Rohingya and other Muslims across the globe lies in the establishment of the righteous Khilafah State based upon the method of the Prophethood. It will adopt the true interests of the Muslims because it is in accordance to the Laws of Allah Almighty. Therefore, the Khilafah upon the method of the Prophethood will open wide its gates to receive all persecuted Muslims; provide them protection and sanctuary, since they are all equal citizens of the state; and it will equip and mobilise its army without hesitation to defend and rescue those oppressed Muslims wherever they may reside or are encamped. We therefore pledge before Allah (swt) to work with full commitment with Hizb ut Tahrir, exerting our utmost efforts and our full energies to establish this glorious Khilafah state once again to unite our lands, protect the believers from all enemies, and spread security, and provide protection and dignified lives to the Rohingya women and children, indeed to the whole Islamic Ummah.
والله على ما نقول شهيد وهو الموفق وعليه التكلان
Allah is indeed a witness over what we say, our success is from Him, and on Him do we rely.
