Met with the Mayor of Bizerte

A delegation from the Central Contacts Committee of Hizb ut Tahrir in Tunisia met Mr. Munawer Ouertani, the Mayor of Bizerte, on Saturday 24 October 2015. This delegation included both the Chairman of the Central Contacts Committee Salim Samida, and committee members Nasruddine Muawiya and Mohammad Al-Baskari, accompanied by Bizerte local committee member Abdul Rauf Al-Kafi. The discussion revolved around the following points:

  1. The Hizb, as a political party whose ideology is Islam, adopts the interests of the people and holds the rulers accountable, and that the past solutions of socialism and liberalism have failed in all walks of life.

  2. The misfortunes of Ummah are all due to the fall of its Khilafah state, where its lands became scattered after their unity, and the weak have ruled them instead of strong statesmen.

  3. The urgency of liberation from the foreign hegemony and their dominance over the lands, and relying on the capabilities of the Ummah’s enormous natural resources and human competencies.

The delegation listened to the remarks of Mr. Mayor and his responses in this regard, and found him to be understanding and willing to discuss further details.
