French Ambassador’s Statement:

A Colonialist Statement that Insulted the People of the Land

(Translated)

The new French ambassador in Tunisia, Olivier Poivre D’Arvor, on Wednesday the 14th of September 2016, in his first statement to the French media after being assigned to his role said that: “His fundamental and main task is to guarantee the security of the French citizens present there” and that: “There are 30 thousand French citizens in Tunisia including 15 thousand students in the French institutes, who are a target for every danger, and that it is obligatory to protect them in a country like Tunisia which all of us know is haven (provider) for Jihadis”.

Statements like this which the French politicians are accustomed to making are considered to be insulting and degrading to the fullest extent. That is because it indicates that this Olivier has a role contrasting with the role of the ambassador. Indeed, he is considering himself to be an effective ruler in the country or a Resident General that assumes the protection of whom he wills and behaves as he pleases. As for the rulers of the country then they are merely his employees!!

The ambassador also implied in this statement that he possesses an authority in the country and a security department (which may refer to the French intelligence agencies already active in Tunisia). For that reason, he views that he is capable of protecting the French citizens, indeed he regards it as his responsibility. This statement also belittles the capability of our armed forces represented in the police and the army in respect to protecting the country and those residing in it.

For that reason, we ask: Why is there this complete and utter silence from the government and the presidential office in respect to these statements?! Does it represent an approval to what lies behind the lines?! Why O President have you not discussed bringing a solution to this ambassador in the National Security Council or do we only see you being brave against Hizb ut Tahrir which is working to bring the people out of the darkness of colonialism and into the light of honour and prosperity?!

We have put forward these questions although we already know the answer, however the seriousness of the situation that we are in demands it: Colonialism, control over the cabinets of the country, plundering of its resources, insult and belittling, so what lies after all of that?! For that reason, we reiterate that our battle is with the colonialism. It must be uprooted and its workings must be severed from interfering in the affairs of the Muslims and their issues so that we return to being the best Ummah raised up for mankind.
