In Response to the Television Program in India titled:
“Hizb ut Tahrir- a New Name for Terrorism”
(Translated)

News Express Channel, the Indian news channel aired on February 17, 2015 CE an episode of the television program “The country wants to know,” it was titled: “Hizb ut Tahrir – a new name for terrorism” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yv7pzxx07-g

This episode included numerous inaccuracies and misleading statements that we would like to highlight and refute them.

The presenter and his guests have drawn up an image of Hizb ut Tahrir being a “terrorist” organization, and mentioned that “the party has an armed wing and it is training its cadres to wage chemical, bacteriological, and biological warfare.” Moreover, the program repeatedly showed videos and pictures of the gunmen standing alongside Hizb ut Tahrir’s logo.

The title of the program indicates that it is a cynical and ridiculous program, since it is related to “the country wants to know,” as the course of the discussion in it was built on false information that has nothing to do with reality, neither closely or from afar.

Hizb ut Tahrir is a political party whose ideology is Islam, it was founded in 1953 in Jerusalem, to resume the Islamic way of life by establishing the Khilafah state upon the method of Prophethood, in the Islamic countries through intellectual and political struggle, it does not use weapons. The party now works in more than forty countries on all continents, in spite of the harassment, provocations, censorship and arrests faced by its members, as well as intimidation and torture, leading often to martyrdom, there has not been any incident attributed to the Party documents that it has deviated an inch from its political method, contrary to Western notions of expediency, which considers that “the end justifies the means.”

The presenter of the program, Shivani, has stated that “Hizb ut Tahrir could be another name for the Islamic State Organization.”

This accusation is baseless, it is ridiculous, because it claims that the members of Hizb ut Tahrir follow the same brutality practiced by ISIS, while Hizb ut Tahrir along with other groups have condemned all actions of ISIS because they are in conflict with the rules of the great Islam.

The participants in the program also stated that “Hizb ut Tahrir converts the youth into radicals and extremists, and it poisons the hearts and minds of Muslims and fills them with hatred for other religions” and that “Hizb ut Tahrir is the enemy of humanity”.

This accusation is also false, this is because the culture of Hizb ut Tahrir and its method for change clearly show that the party is seeking to establish a political system that is capable of achieving justice, security and economic prosperity for all subjects of different sects and ethnicities.

We would like to remind the television editorial team and viewers and the participants in this program, that it is their responsibility to present reports that are independent, objective, and ideologically researched. Professional journalism requires reports to be accurate and fair, and we hope that newspapers take this into account, so as to avoid our action to resort to legal measures in the future. And we ask the channel to give us, we in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir, the opportunity to explain our views directly from the owner’s mouth, not from the lips of the alleged “experts” aiming to mislead the public either out of their ignorance, or intentionally by participating in distorting the image of Islam and Hizb ut Tahrir.
