To Stop India’s Outrageous River-linking Project, Bangladesh Needs to Mobilize its Formidable Military under the Sincere Leadership of the Khilafah
India’s Modi government has announced to immediately start implementing a $300 billion engineering project that would divert water from the major rivers of its north-eastern part to the drought-prone areas by interlinking and redesigning the natural flow of 37 major rivers at the cost of choking lives and agriculture in Bangladesh. Water Resources Minister of India Uma Bharti told the BBC last week that she was determined to start the project on the fast track and the first phase of it would start anytime.
This catastrophic project would change the course and capacity of some of Asia’s greatest rivers, Ganges and Brahmaputra and cause serious downstream impacts on 100 million people in Bangladesh who rely on the rivers for their livelihoods. Already due to the Teesta and Farakka barrages of India, some of the mighty rivers in Bangladesh became lifeless due to inadequate water flow. And this terrible water diversion project of the sworn enemy of Bangladesh will also severely diminish the water flow into Bangladesh’s major rivers like the Teesta, Jamuna and the Padma. Rather, this project will bring more damages than the notorious Farakka Barrage that has been a curse imposed by India on the people of Bangladesh.
O people of Bangladesh! You would always get betrayed by the Awami-BNP secular politics in front of Indian aggression. These politicians are the snakes in our backyard who would always act in favour of our enemy to secure their throne. We understand your mounting rage against Indian hostility as well as the frustration with the treachery of our secular politicians. We urge you not to limit yourselves by criticizing the Indian conspiracies only or buying into the impractical idea of political engagement with the enemy. This is a political crisis being created by a belligerent state that cannot be stopped other than a formidable Islamic state. Oh Muslims! Your Iman (belief) is calling for resolute action. Support Hizb ut Tahrir in every possible way in its call to re-establish the second righteous Khilafah (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood so that this rogue Mushrik state could be conquered and brought into the justice of Islam.
