Secularists Have Offered Civil Marriage instead of the Shariah Provisions
Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil said today after a meeting of the political body of the Free Patriotic Movement, that their proposal is the civil state even in personal circumstances. This statement is consistent with the statement of Interior Minister Nohad El Machnouk in his latest appearance in the program “Kalam al-Nas”, that civil marriage will be presented after the elections. We have not learned of anyone who responded to these statements and the like, neither from politicians, academics, intellectuals, nor from non-Muslim clerics!
O Muslims in Lebanon!
What remains of the provisions of Islam applied in Lebanon for Muslims is Civil Status, and it seems that the enemies of Islam are trying to remove it. Our Islamic obligation requires us to preserve it, and to seek to re-apply all the provisions of Islam that have been removed from life, society and the state, which alone please Allah (swt) and please man and grant him full rights. We have to confront secularists who seek to abolish what remains of our Shari’ah law.
We say to the non-Muslims of the people of Lebanon:
The (secular) Civil Status are man-made laws that encourage vice and indecency, which Allah (swt) has forbidden in all laws, and everyone must reject it and expose its claimants. Instead of limiting morality in the media, we see today those working to spread vice in family life, and we all see the extent of the decline in the moral level in the country that applies secularism, as well as family disintegration, and the spread of adultery as a result, do you not agree?
O People of Lebanon:
We in Hizb ut Tahrir assure all that we will stand in the face of those who promote secularism instead of Shariah, whoever it was. So stand by our side so as not to further exacerbate disasters in our lives and our relationships.
