Thousands of Pakistanis lay Islamic scholar Israr Ahmed
Thousands of Pakistanis mourned during the funeral of scholar Dr Israr Ahmed in Lahore.
Religious scholar and founder of Tanzeem-e-Islami, Dr. Israr Ahmed who died of cardiac arrest, was laid to rest in the Model Town graveyard in Lahore on Wednesday night. Israr, president of Anjuman-e Khuddam Al-Quran, has left behind four sons, five daughters and a widow.
Thousands of people across the country, including PML-N (Punjab president) Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khan Khosa, Senator Sajid Mir, Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan and Qazi Hussain Ahmed and all other religious leaders attended the funeral, Worldbulletin correspondent Ubaid ur Rahman said. He wrote more than 100’s books. He taught his family and children in the same way of Islam.
Dr. Israr was in favor of Caliphate and struggled for it throw out of his life. Government officials and other political and religious leaders offered condolences over his demise, by saying that “Dr Israr’s death was a huge loss for the country.
Life of Israr Ahmed
He born in Hassar District of India on April 26, 1932, Dr. Israr had actively participated in Pakistan Movement and as General Secretary of Muslim Student Federation, after Pakistan came into being he joined Islami Jamiat-e Tulaba and became the President of that famous student organization.
He wrote around 100 books on Islam and was associated with different religious foundations in the country and abroad. Dr. Israr was born in 1932 and did his FSc from the then Government College, Lahore, MBBS from King Edward Medical College, Lahore, and MA Islamiyat from the Karachi University with distinction.
In 1971, he abandoned his medical practice and devoted himself to the Islamic revival. Dr. Israr was in favor of Caliphate and struggled for that throw out his life. He also was known as the Qur’an commentator and Mufessir. He taught his family and children in the same way of Qur’an and Islam.
Since last 9 years he was disturb due to the entry of foreign armies (NATO) in Afghanistan, and was giving the harsh reaction to that. He was also not happy due to Military operations in tribal areas and death of innocent civilians. These all were effecting on his heart decease.
