3 ‘Hizb-ut Tahrir men’ arrested

Police arrested three alleged activists of banned Islamist outfit Hizb-ut Tahrir in the capital yesterday. In Gulshan, Isa Khan, 24, was held red-handed while he was distributing the group’s leaflets among the devotees at Azad mosque before Juma prayers, said Gulshan police Officer-in-Charge Rafiqul Islam. Later, Isa’s cohorts – Delwar Hossain, 25, and Nayem Abdulla, 24, who escaped from the scene – were arrested in Niketon area, he added.

Our Pirojpur correspondent reports, police arrested two alleged activists of another banned outfit Hizb-ut Tawhid in Bhandaria upazila on Thursday night.They were Mozammel Haq and his son Saiful Islam of Gournadi in Barisal.
