HTI Calls On Muslim Countries To Send Troops To Palestine

JAKARTA, Dec 30 (Bernama) — The Indonesian Muslim organization Hizbut Tahrir (HTI) has called on Muslim countries here on Tuesday to send troops to Palestine and fight against Israeli forces which had killed hundreds of innocent civilian Palestinians, ANTARA news agency reported.

“We urge all Muslim countries not to only send medicines but also troops,” HTI Spokesman Farid Wajri told reporters when HTI supporters staged a rally outside the United States Embassy.

He said that the forces that were to be sent should not be those for peacekeeping only but also for waging wars against Israel.

Farid Wajri said retaliation needed to be taken as what Israeli had done was a form of despicable acts that violated human values and could not be tolerated by anyone.

“The Israeli brutal attacks on Gaza Strip have killed more than 300 people,” he said.

After conducting orations outside the US embassy, the HTI supporters also went to the embassies of a number of Middle East countries such as Egypt and Lebanon to convey their aspirations.

Wajri said that specifically for Egypt, the HTI demonstrators urged Cairo to actively help Palestinians with foods and medicines because Egypt directly shared border with Gaza now under attacks by Israel.
