Security for the Citizens is a Crucial Issue and Should not be Taken Lightly

The death of one student and thirty students severely injured from Strathmore University in the capital city of Nairobi  in the botched Terror Drill is a disappointing matter and which deserved to be castigated by any peace keeper. Reports from the Media outlets in the country said the event was planned by the senior management of the University in consultation with senior police officers without informing the students.

The permission accorded to such a despicable act of terror has confirmed the way security apparatus tamper and threaten the security of the citizens. Why should such acts that lead to the loss of life and casualties of people to be condoned to take place in the pretext of preparations against terror attacks! How can it sink into mind when one party alleges to be fighting against terror while another commits acts of terror that lead to casualties and loss of life? This cannot be entertained considering that the security issue is an imperative interest to the people and of which the government and its institutions are liable to protect its citizens. We are shocked by alleged scholars and who are also managers of the university to see them lightly taking the life of people whom even the last of fools will honor and take precaution to protect the same.

We still see Kenya continue to sow western states’ plot especially the US to deliberately link Islam with acts of terror. The said states have been sacrificing their citizens in order to compel them into supporting them in their heinous killings of Muslims. For fourteen years now, the US is waging war against Islam disguised as a War against Terror. We feel this act was meant to compel the thoughts of non-Muslims to continue hating the Muslims and see them as a threat to security of all people including the students.

Islam has acknowledged that security issue is not an issue to be taken lightly and that is why it compelled the Islamic State, Khilafah, to ensure security to human beings. To protect human being’s life is one of the teachings of Islam. Law stated in the Qur’an:

مِنْ أَجْلِ ذَلِكَ كَتَبْنَا عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنَّهُ مَن قَتَلَ نَفْسًا بِغَيْرِ نَفْسٍ أَوْ فَسَادٍ فِي الأَرْضِ فَكَأَنَّمَا قَتَلَ النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا وَمَنْ أَحْيَاهَا فَكَأَنَّمَا أَحْيَا النَّاسَ جَمِيعًا

“For that reason we wrote to Bani Israel that whoever kills a person who has not killed, or commits corruption in the country, then is like he has killed all people. And who saves one person from dying is like saving all people.” [TMQ Al-Maida: 32]
