Thuggish Thoughts of Secularism is the Main Cause of School Fires

Following the spate of incidents of burning schools that now reached 105 schools by the students, Hizb ut Tahrir / Kenya wishes to highlight the following:

This ongoing thuggery which has largely caused the loss of properties and casualties should be condemned in the strongest terms and terminated immediately. It is sad that the Government has been reluctant in preventing such evils yet it is its responsibility to resolve this problem and many more facing the public.

We certainly do not see these frequent school fires as a surprise based on two main reasons:

1. a) It is not a surprise to witness these crime acts in a society that has embraced the evil thought emanating from the secular-liberal doctrine. Certainly, the claim that some cartels are behind the school fires contains high percentage of truth. This is because this secularism distances the public from the spirit of being fearful to the Almighty Creator instead drive them to have a free will i.e. doing any action in accordance to his/her whims. So in such society it is not surprise to see students doing immoral acts such as boozing, sexual acts and many other evils.
2. b) In this capitalist Ideology, education has sparked more problems instead of solving them and the worst concept being intertwining the education with jobs. This has pushed students to seek education as a means to get employed and not to be thinkers. Fake certificates and Exam cheating are only but a few problems facing secular education. Education officials have been bribed by parents to leak exam papers. This has been done in broad light and with the consent of school principals. This is how capitalism generates and breeds up crisis. The reality is education is merely a theoretical tool which is very far from the real life.

Contrary to Islam – a profound ideology built on strong and rational doctrine of believing in the Almighty Creator Allah (swt). The creed that wants mankind to run their affairs in accordance with Allah’s command. And that human beings should base their actions according to the will of Allah. It is upon this basis the education policy should be built with the aim of producing the great thinkers whose life is solely driven by the divine system.
