Ramadhan Should Enable Us to Attain the Highest Rank of Piety
In relation to the Auspicious Month of Ramadhan, the Islamic Political Party of Hizb ut Tahrir Kenya wishes all Muslims in the country and across the globe in general Ramadhan Kareem and Saum Maqbul. Indeed it is a happy occasion to witness the Muslim Ummah praising this Month and is a sign that the Ummah is alive despite passing through heinous plots by enemies of Islam.
We remind Muslims while they are fasting to ensure they attain the objective mentioned by Allah (swt) which is Piety. Allah Almighty states:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ كُتِبَ عَلَيْكُمُ الصِّيَامُ كَمَا كُتِبَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
“O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you so that you may become righteous.” [TMQ 2:183].
Piety is the highest rank for a Muslim which compels him/her in abiding Allah (swt).
We call upon those who are able amongst the Muslims to aid the poor amongst the Muslims by giving them charity and breaking fast with them. This act is promoted in Islam and in reality has put in place laws to curb poverty. Contrary to the policies of the capitalist ideology of individualism, greedy and cruelty which has a created a wide gap between the rich and the poor. This ideology has caused numerous conflicts not only on the economic aspect but also political and social.
We emphasize the Muslims to read the Qur’an by internalizing the meaning in it and also to steadfastly abide by its teachings which emanate from the Creator of humanity who is Allah (swt) Qur’an was revealed in the Month of Ramadhan to be guidance to humanity in resolving problems including socio-economic and political. By that guidance is for thirteen centuries almost half the world realized highest level of prosperity in all sectors of life, since laws in the Qur’an were implemented through the Khilafah (Caliphate) – the Islamic ruling.
Finally, we say it is imperative to supplicate a lot for our Muslim Brothers who are currently facing harsh conditions and tragedies in different countries in the Muslim world. This is because the supplication from a fasting person is answered faster. We know for sure that adversities against Muslims and Non-Muslims will only end when we implement one of the Compulsory obligations by re-establishing the Khilafah upon the method of the Prophethood in one of the great nations of Muslims. Khilafah is the only state that will uproot the American capitalism by expelling its armies that are spreading corruption on the earth.
