The Corruption of the Capitalist Ideology Lacks Empathy towards the Residents of Huruma

Once again, the citizens of Kenya have been disconcerted and taken aback by the grisly and fatal disaster that led to the untimely crumbling of a six-story building, at Huruma in Nairobi. Whereas until now, the precise number of the dead has not yet been established, though more than 40 victims have been confirmed dead.

It is a norm that when any death occurs, it causes sympathy, we would therefore like to say, wherever we witness calamities, especially those which bear resemblance and similarities to this one, we ought to learn a great lesson, which is no other than, it is upon Allah Taalah alone, who is able to cause death and bring life. That nobody dies without His sole absolute command. This was clearly demonstrated when a child aged 6 and a pregnant woman were rescued alive after several days under the rubble! This incident ought to remind the Kenyan citizens specifically and the world at large, that Allah Taalah Alone is the possessor of life as well deserves to be the only eligible legislator that can justly rule the world.

Despite the fact that death deserves to be Allah Taalah’s cause, the human life has precious inestimable value, thus it is not incumbent upon anyone to mess up with it. What apparent transpires from this horrific incident, is how the lives of destitute are treated with contempt with no worth at all. The government must therefore carry the huge burden of blame because it has the sole responsibility to take care of the lives of its citizens.

It is awfully commiserating to find that since 1996 till now, more than 100 have lost their precious lives after being crumbled by rubble of houses which were authorized without putting into consideration construction protocols. Worse, the owners of these life threatening buildings are always set free! A clear indication that the courts working under the yoke of democratic system are ever devoid of any power to incriminate or prosecute tycoons.

As for the fact that these disasters are attributed to corruption, this is very true. However, this does not end there, without the source of corruption being exposed. It goes without saying that the rampant corruption that engulfs almost the entire governmental departments and ministries, is a results of the colonial capitalist ideology which has turned Material pleasure, to be the criteria of life. This criterion fills man with insatiable greed to amass wealth by any means necessary even endangering life. Definitely, it is this greed that pushed many capitalist tycoons to construct buildings in perilous areas as long as they will make money. It is actually through bribery, tips and other filthy means, the capitalist tycoons manage to hasten the construction of buildings, which later turn out to be death traps.

Finally, we would like to emphasize that had there been a ruling system that feels the burden of looking after the citizen, then there could have never been witnessed treacherous environment that facilitate the occurrence of these disasters. Should they happen by Allah’s decree, in a right ruling system, then it would have taken quick measures to deploy emergency aids and assistance to the victims of these disasters. The only ruling system that can effectively do that is Khilafah (caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood only. Which Hizb is in the front run calling for its re-establishment in an endevour to rule the entire world regardless of religion, color or social class.
